With his own two hands, David helped forge Griffin Petroleum Company into more than a business. He made it a testament to tenacity. He learned every part of the trade — from the weight of a wrench in cold air before dawn, to the intricacies of contracts and negotiations that would secure a future for his crew. He understood that an oil company isn’t just pipelines and pumps — it’s livelihoods, families, and the backbone of the towns it touches.
Throughout his life, David carried the work ethic of a craftsman. He was as comfortable in boots and jeans on a rig site as he was in a meeting room charting the next strategic move. He believed that success shouldn’t be given — it should be earned, day by day.
When he passed away in October 2025, the oil fields he helped develop lost more than a pioneer. They lost a mentor, a leader, and a man who believed that greatness isn’t built overnight — it’s built with stubborn persistence and genuine care for the people beside you.
Today, his Son Eric Griffin carries on his legacy that lives in every well drilled, every job created, and every rising oil rig that still echoes with the lessons he taught: work hard, stand firm, and build something that lasts.
